Unfortunately there are several sets of highway works liable to cause inconvenience and delays for Ruddington motorists during July.
These include the total closure of Dutton’s Hill again over the next two Sundays for more gas work. Although these ‘Prohibition of Driving’ notices on that section of Wilford Road should not impinge on weekday traffic this time, drivers cutting through the estate to avoid a longer diversionary route are liable to result in further frustration for home owners along St John’s Road and St Mary’s Crescent in particular.
Water connection work will also slow down motorists along Clifton Lane for three days this week; whilst drivers and residents along Loughborough Road will be hit by more highway work causing delays at both the Kirk Lane junction and Mere Way Roundabout. The latter is set to go on for three weeks!
The key July Roadworks dates to note are:-
- Sunday 3rd July 2022 & Sunday 10th July 2022 – Total closure of Wilford Road at Dutton’s Hill (outside the former Barber’s Shop) – diversions signposted – new service connection by Cadent Gas
- Tuesday 5th July 2022 at 08:00 Hours to Thursday 7th July 2022 at 17:00 Hours – two-way traffic signals on Clifton Lane by the Fairham Brook bridge – new connection by Severn Trent Water
- Thursday 7th July 2022 to Monday 11th July 2022 – Multi-way signals at the junction of Kirk Lane, Loughborough Road and Flawforth Lane – for new connection work by Cadent Gas
- Monday 18th July 2022 at 9.30am to Sunday 7th August 2022 at 3.30pm – Multi-way signals on the A60 Loughborough Rd at the Mere Way Roundabout – completion of Phase 1 carriageway and pavement works for the William Davis Homes development – by Nottinghamshire County Council Highways
Residents and visitors should anticipate delays for drivers, and also passengers using Kinchbus 9, CT4N Services 22 & 23 & Nottingham City Transport’s Navy 3 & Green 10C/10X Rushcliffe Country Park/Ruddington Fields buses and the NottsBus Connect Service 863, during some of these works.
